Next spring, I’ll be hosting a special workshop in the charming village of Greystoke, in the countryside on the outskirts of the stunning Lake District. We’ll be gathering in the Grade II listed Swallow Barn, originally or once a part of the historic 14th-century Greystoke Castle complex - a setting steeped in character and surrounded by nature.

What We’ll Create:

Inspired by the location, I’ll be teaching you how to paint elegant swallows in watercolour. Plus, by popular demand, we’ll also dive into charcoal techniques to bring a highland calf to life on paper. By the end of the two days, you’ll have two beautiful pieces to take home and display proudly!

What You’ll Learn:

This workshop will cover a range of essential skills to boost your artistry in both watercolour and charcoal, including:

• “Wet into wet” techniques

• Color mixing with just 4 colours, for depth and vibrancy

• Perfecting your timing

• Exploring expressive brushstrokes

• Loose, natural approaches to bring life to your work

• Pigment control to enable your work to pack a punch!

• Creating effective tones in monochrome and in colour
